Sport & Health Programme Manager, The Single Homeless Project
Eloise is the Programme manager for the Sports and Health project at Single Homeless Project, a London-wide homeless charity and housing association. She is instrumental in the design and delivery of a scheme that has an evidenced positive impact on participant’s physical & mental health and which has changed organisational attitudes towards the inclusion of physical activity in its provision of ‘social’ work. The initiative principally supports people over 55 years old with complex needs, who have experienced long-term homelessness and social exclusion, engaging them in a minimum of 30 mins of physical exercise per week. Eloise combines her academic understanding in Clinical Exercise Science (MSc, University of Portsmouth) and expertise in homelessness work to lead and inform a project that has received recognition from the London Sport Awards and London Homelessness Awards. During the Covid-19 pandemic Eloise and the wider team have focussed on introducing digital platforms into hostels to help maintain physical activity levels.
